CUA is committed to promoting the full participation of all individuals with disabilities in the Honors Convocation, Baccalaureate Mass and Commencement Exercises.
Graduating students with disabilities who need accommodations along the procession route, in the seating area (this would include those who are Deaf/hard of hearing, low vision and physical disabilities), getting to/from the platform area (located at the top of the stairs), obtaining their diploma on the platform or alternative formats of the commencement program need to contact Disability Support Services three weeks prior to Commencement
For guests with disabilities: handicap parking is available on campus in designated locations; a state-issued license plate or placard is required. All ceremonies have designated seating areas for persons with mobility disabilities and for those who need interpreters or transcribers. Assistive Listening Devices are available upon request. Seating is available for the individual with the disability and a limited number of companions on a first-come, first-served basis. Should your guest need commencement materials in an alternate format, such as enlarged print or Braille, or a sign language interpreter, please contact Disability Support Services at email@example.com or 202-319-5211 two weeks prior to Commencement.
More information on disability access during commencement will be available in March 2015
